This study Bible employs a revised version of the well-known Authorized Version, commonly referred to as the King James Version (KJV), which was first published in 1611. Our revision has been undertaken with meticulous reference to the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts used by the initial translators of the KJV, ensuring fidelity to the original texts.

We recognize that many dedicated supporters of the KJV may resist any modifications to this traditional translation. Some may argue that altering a version perceived as divinely blessed and historically central to English-speaking Christians serves little purpose. However, it is important to acknowledge that the original 1611 translation drew upon previous translations, and numerous revisions of the KJV have already been made over the centuries. For example, the version most commonly used today is not the original 1611 text but the 1769 revision. Additionally, other editions—such as the 1967 Scofield Reference Bible—incorporated revisions, as noted in their introductions. More recently, translations like the New King James Bible have offered further updates.

Our revision should not be confused with these earlier efforts; instead, it aligns with the intent of the original translators and those who have sought to improve and clarify the text over time. Our goal has been to provide an accurate translation that employs clear and accessible language for contemporary readers. In doing so, we follow the biblical principle that God's Word was originally communicated in familiar speech, designed to be understood and readily received by all people. We have endeavored to emulate this approach.

The use of italics in our text mirrors that of the original KJV translators, who added words not explicitly found in the Hebrew or Greek texts—often necessary for grammatical completeness or clarity—and distinguished these additions through italics. Given that Hebrew and Greek are languages with multiple meanings for many words, translations can vary depending on context. Accordingly, our notes occasionally include alternative translations or interpretations to reflect these nuances.

Regarding our accompanying notes, our primary aim is to assist readers in comprehending and applying God's Word more effectively. These notes are the culmination of many years of dedicated scholarly effort. They have been carefully prepared to elucidate biblical texts without imposing preconceived notions or biases. Of course, there may be instances where our understanding or interpretation could be improved; we welcome readers' feedback should inaccuracies or interpretative errors come to light. Any such corrections will be addressed in future editions. Our steadfast aspiration is to uphold truth—anything less is unacceptable—and we trust that those who use this Study Bible will gain a clearer understanding of divine truth through its assistance.

Throughout this work, numerous cross-references are incorporated within the notes and summary concordance at the end. While we believe these references are accurate, we acknowledge that occasional proofreading oversights may occur. We would greatly appreciate it if readers would notify us of any errors they discover so that we can correct them in subsequent editions.
